Trip to Bhiwadi

Last week I had a trip to Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. Bhiwadi is known as –The Gateway of Rajasthan.  I was driving my Grand i10 with my wife and kids. As soon as we left home it started raining. Rain was so heavy I couldn’t see the road clearly. Visibility dropped to less than 10 meters. In the city it was not so difficult to drive as the speed was slow but as soon as we hit the highway, rain got heavier. You cannot drive sideways as there water was heavily logged. In this rain looking through side mirrors and back mirror was out of question. Waters bouncing out from the tyres of front cars, buses and trucks were creating hazy atmosphere adding more misery to driving. Wife was constantly telling me to drive more cautiously and first time I was actually listening to her. My 2 year old son generally seat at front seat and play with dashboard but we decided to move him to back seat so that he couldn’t disturb me and I could rally focus on the drive.
When roadways are wet, the friction is reduced between the tyre and the road and so I had to adjust the speed again and again. Tyres were skidding and braking was not smooth. Driving through highway in the rain was very scary.
I left home at 1100 hrs and we reached Bhiwadi by 1400 hrs and that was just double the time it normally takes. My kids were really enjoying the rain and when they reached rain was stopped and they jumped out of car to enjoy the logged water and slides.

My eyes were in pain by then we reached looking through windshield on which two wipers were doing their work very hastily and seriously. But I forget every pain of journey looking my kids enjoying. No one likes the rain when he/she is in traffic but every one enjoys the beauty after rain had passed. One cannot ignore the beauty of nature and clear sky. Rain is clearly a great blessing of God.
Few lines from one of the famous poem:
How beautiful is the Rain!
After the Dust and heat,
In the broad and fiery street,
In the Narrow lane,
How beautiful is the rain!

I didn’t know the basics of driving in rain but that day I learn many of them by watching other drivers. As monsoon season is ongoing I thought to pen down some basics to let others know as well.
  1. Turn on wipers to clean the windshield.
  2. Slow down to give more friction to tyres and reduce the chances of skidding out.
  3. Stay focused and keeps away the entire disturbance.
  4. Turn your lights on and to make it easier for other drivers to see your car.
  5. Maintain lengthy gap between cars in front of you.
  6. Avoid slamming of brakes instead slow down the car by easing the accelerator.

Returning to trip we decided to visit one of the temple of Bhiwadi which is quite famous called Baba Mohan Ram Temple. It is also known as Khali Kholi Dhaam. Almost every person of Rajasthan and Haryana believes in magic of Baba Mohan Ram. It is very beautiful and quite place.

We were really mesmerized by scenic beauty of temple. It is a must visit. Overall we enjoyed the unforgettable journey.

Indian Election to be made Online

In last few months Indian Election and EVMs were talking point of the country. I don’t know if EVM were tampered or not but as Software tester I know for sure that not a single product in world is bug free. That is first point we were taught in testing industry. But right now I don t want to talk about that as this should be the agenda of Election commission to justify.
There was a question in my mind since long that why Indian Election shouldn’t be made online? What are the pros and Cons of shifting election to online?

Currently Indians have Voter Id number and Aadhar number. If there could be a system developed which can use these numbers and create an account for every Indian who can vote.  Every Indian will receive code to login into his/her account by entering his details. Every Voter id is unique so no other guy can copy that for wrong purposes. Plus double security can be done by adding Aadhar number also.
Now-a-days usage and reach of smartphones are increasing day by day. This voting can be done through App also.
Steps:
  • Just download this App in your smartphone
  • Login with your credentials.
  • Enter the Code received.
  • Click on the Party you want to Vote and
  • Then Submit.
  • Receive SMS to confirm you vote.

I will write about positives only from this system and I invite people to highlight negatives from this, if any.
Pros:
  1. Voting process can be speed up.  No need to go to voting center and be in queue
  2. Voter verification process would get shortened as this can be done online.
  3. Lots and lots of saving of Government funds.
  4. Better use of Government teachers/staffs that travel long distances to cover election.
  5. False and duplicate voting can be stopped.
  6. Large number of voter turnout as they can cast their vote sitting on the couch in their room.
  7. Last but not the least same day result as counting can be done simultaneously.

Only con that I can think of now is hacking. But unlike EVM and Ballot boxes, these Apps are neither transported anywhere nor stored in any warehouse. With current cyber security hacking can be controlled if implemented properly. If Govt. comes to know that election has been hacked then also re-election can be done within days after analyzing the fault properly. The cost involved in re-election would be very less compared to current system.

Mr. Kejriwal at national level

I am huge fan of Mr. Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party.

Flintobox IN

I am really desperate to see some real change in Delhi and in India also. BJP had cheated everyone that’s clear but do we have other option/Party going to election in 2019.

I want to see Mr. Arvind Kejriwal as a National Leader not just limited to Delhi. It is high time Mr. Kejriwal leave the CM seat of Delhi and move to some bigger platform. It is high time to see the bigger picture and AAP has no better leader than Kejriwal. Please don’t lead to final conclusion right away without reading my complete blog and giving it thought for some time.

In 2014 BJP won because Indians were looking for some change, looking for some leader after 10 years debacle of congress... In 2014 people saw better option in BJP…But what better option do we have in 2019? None…

BJP has failed in every department in last 3 years but he will again win in 2019 because Indians don’t have any better option. Can AAP be that option? Can AAP be hope to the people that Indian politics can be changed? If you don’t want to see Modi fooling again, we Indians need another leader, another party. Can AAP challenge BJP in 2019? Don’t try to get along with Third front or fourth front.

Who would be the best messenger than Mr. Arvind Kejriwal to spread out that message? Indian politics is witnessing something better through AAP, Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia. It is high time to give CM seat to Mr. Sisodia and Mr. Kejriwal took the fight to National level. Dr Kumar Vishwas is good but why only him. He needs support and both of you can do wonder but together.

There are many states from where we can start our campaign, Goa, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan. I personally prefer smaller states to target first rather than UP and Rajasthan. Strategically, we can fight in Bengal where Mamta is weaker and indirectly support her. Who want to lose the position we have created in last Lok Sabha in Punjab?

Instead don’t target states but target no. of seats. Identify some 200 seats approx and make them your home town and focus fully on those seats. Mr. Kejriwal has to personally visit those places and if you really want to win them you have to start right now.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    To be continued…..

Daily Bazaars in Delhi

Continuing to the Daily Bazaars in Delhi named on the day itself.
Delhi is national capital and an international city and we are planning to make it a smart city. So do we want to see these markets in smart city?
At first, a thought comes in mind that can these markets be removed from streets of Delhi completely seeing their presence in Delhi? But I think this can be done with proper planning and execution.

Flintobox IN

When I start writing this article, Sulabh Toilets came to my mind how these guys have spread their business.
Why Delhi government can’t open shops like for e.g., Safal stores in every locality. Think about Amma Canteen.

Government can buy directly from farmers and get transported to each and every store.

When Delhi Government opens such stores, the main opposition will come from these small sellers only. So we need to recruit those guys who are now selling in these markets and whose earning will be impacted by this Govt scheme.
With proper execution these markets can be phased out in next 4-5 years and that would be a great achievement.

We can survey the daily markets in 2-3 localities. We have to cover every bit so that during implementation we don’t miss anything.
Survey can be done covering:
  • ·         Number of sellers
  • ·         Earning per seller per day
  • ·         Number of days they are selling
  • ·         Supply chain

We need to take minimum of 500 sq ft. in every locality and will store vegetables and fruits. For every store we’ll hire 4-5 people for smooth running.
This model can be fully outsourced or run on PPP model, but we need to ensure that we are buying vegetables and fruits preferably from local farmers only. We can give preference to local ones and then to others.

Suggestions and arguments are welcome......

Making Delhi a Better city

Flintobox IN

AAP is doing good work in Delhi at least compared to other parties. Mohalla Clinic is one of the best examples of that. Water and Electricity remains main issue and giving subsidy on these are good steps. But I think we are lagging somewhere. We have to move on from these. We can’t highlight these every time. AAP should show some new work/benefits every time when they go to public.  Maybe we are not connecting to people emotionally. May be we are not doing enough to generate people interest to talk about our work. The BIG question today is what to do to make Delhi what AAP had promised during his campaign.
Can we go for some polls every now and then asking people to come up with ideas to make Delhi- A Better city? Trust me students of India have really great ideas hidden inside them. We should invite them to give suggestion on topics/issues on which they want action. Issues which can connect us emotionally to people or whatever.
We are planning to make Delhi a smart city. Is it possible seeing the current situation in Delhi be it transportation, health, sanitation, education, sewage and etc…
Few ideas that come up in mind which need discussion on bigger platform, if you agree. We can ask people of Delhi to come up and give suggestion to improve on following topics and if they have any other topics.

  • 1.       Som bazaar, Shani Bazaar, mangal bazzar…..
Pros and Cons of these Bazaar: Is it good to place market on small gali? Do we have better option? Are we getting quality food from these bazaars? Is it not affecting traffic during that period? What about the leftovers after market is over?
  • 2.       Education: I really want to appreciate the work done by Mr Sisodia on this field. Couple of things I need to share if it can be done.
a. Collecting old books from student when they pass and moved on to upper class. This simple step can do wonder. We can really curb corruption between publication house and schools.India is a not a rich country and Expense on child education is huge and this step can really help in saving money for lots of parents.
b.  Curbing heavy bags students carry to school. We need to look towards western countries if they have any better idea. School should have some system to store the books/notepads.
c. There should not be system of giving homework. Students should be encouraged to participate in sports and other activities rather than doing homework at home.
